Robert W. Wilford became the executive director of the Central Florida Community Action Agency (CFCAA), on November 20, 2006. Over the past 20 years, he has taken a leadership role in engaging community and faith-based stakeholders in various social advocacy efforts. He has also embraced the implementation of “Results-Oriented Management and Accountability” systems philosophy, in measuring and reporting outcomes and successes in return on investment language. Due to his entrepreneurial spirit as a chief executive officer for over 20 years for four nonprofit community-based organizations, Wilford has overseen capital improvement projects in excess of $10 million, including the construction of four new or renovated Head Start centers, two state-of-the-art substance abuse treatment facilities, the construction of an administrative and training complex financed through “Community Reinvestment Act” funds, the building of a ten-unit apartment complex for low-income families, and the construction/renovation of seven donated senior centers. He formerly directed multi-county community action and substance abuse prevention and treatment agencies in Northwest Florida and Northeast Arkansas and was director of human resources for a multi-state hospital management corporation in Georgia. Credentialed as both a Certified Community Action Manager and Certified Addiction Prevention Professional, Wilford is a Navy veteran of 20 years and has an undergraduate degree in political science and graduate degrees in public administration, human resource management, and counseling and human development. He is a community advocate and social activist who holds the prestigious distinction as a Paul Harris Fellow with Rotary Club International. Wilford has been married to Diane for 37 years. His son, Scott, is a financial consultant who resides in Pensacola. |
